The legendary White Marlin Open is back in Ocean City, Maryland for its 46th year! Book your stay at the Grand Hotel & Spa and visit the “White Marlin Capital of the World” from August 5-9 to watch in suspense as expert anglers bring in their big catch, and watch fates change with the tip of the scales with millions of dollars on the line at the world’s largest and richest billfish tournament!
Since 1974, the White Marlin Open has awarded skilled fishermen and novice anglers with over $63 million dollars in prize money! Each year the tournament gets bigger and better than ever, last year 3,000 anglers competed for a total of $5.4 million dollars in prize money, and this year they’re back to do it again!
The White Marlin Open holds many tournaments under its umbrella, with prizes awarded for white marlin, blue marlin, tuna, wahoo, dolphin and shark, and there’s even a catch and release division. With many different options, you’re sure to catch a winner when you compete!
The White Marlin Open isn’t just fun and games for the fishermen, vacationers, and locals alike flock to the inlet year after year during the pre-dawn hours to cheer on the boats as they head out to sea in pursuit of their big catch! In the evening, thousands more gather at Harbor Island Marina on 14th Street and the Bay to view the weigh-ins.

Schedule of Events
August 5-9: Boats can leave the inlet as early as 3:00 am
Fishing begins at 8:30 am – 3:30 pm
Weigh-ins at 4:00 pm – 9:15 pm
August 10: Awards Ceremony at 4:00 pm
