Springfest in Ocean City, Maryland

Ocean City’s Springfest is an annual festival which takes place in the month of May and consists of four fun-filled days of great food, live music and a beautiful setting. It is all about celebrating the arrival of spring and the soon to be warmer summer weather and the main hub of the festival can be found at the southern end of the Boardwalk, towards the Inlet.

Springfest is a fantastic, family friendly event with free admission making it an even more attractive option for those planning an Ocean City Maryland vacation. Ocean City has plenty of other worthwhile attractions too so any of these could be combined with a day spent at Springfest. If this sounds like your perfect day out then here are some ways to get the most out of Ocean City’s Spring festival:-

Public Transport

If you are staying somewhere local, such as the Grand Hotel Ocean City then you can make use of the Boardwalk trams which will take you all the way down to the Inlet and drop you off right at the entrance to Springfest. It costs $3 per person, per journey to ride the tram. Alternatively there is the Coastal Highway Bus which runs the entire length of Ocean City and costs just $3 for an all day ticket. If you are driving in then you may want to use the local Park & Ride as driving right into Ocean City and finding somewhere to park may prove tricky.

Plan your Day

Whilst you could easily spend a large portion of your day exploring Springfest you might want to think about how your day is going to be structured. What time do you want to arrive? Where are you going to eat? Is there anything else you want to see in Ocean City whilst you are here? This will allow you to get the most not only out of your time exploring Springfest but also out of your trip to Ocean City in general.

Be Prepared

Although many shops and vendors along the Boardwalk accept plastic, it is always a good idea to bring some cash with you for those who do not. There are over 300 vendors who attend Springfest and there is no guarantee that they will accept card payments. Entrance to Springfest is free but once inside there are lots of stalls and sellers which you may be interested in so having cash to hand is always a good plan. There are a number of ATM’s dotted around the Boardwalk if you forget to get some cash in advance.

Having Fun!

There is so much to love about the Ocean City area that we have no doubt you will have a fantastic time. Make sure you head down to the beach and enjoy the sand and sea, as well as taking the time to check out some of the other wonderful attractions which can be found here. But of course don’t forget about the joy of Springfest from the great food to the live entertainment, it’s sure to be a fabulous four days.
