The Ocean City Airshow is back for its 12th year! Headlining performers include the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, the F-22 Raptor, the A-10 Warthod, and the GEICO Skytypers. Whether you are a passionate aircraft fan, or are looking for a fun beach experience. We have the lowdown on all that is happening at the upcoming airshow, and why you should book your tickets now!
Which Ticket is Best?
This year at the OCMD airshow, there are four different grade tickets avaliable; the Drop Zone, the Skybox, the VIP Penthouse and the Flight Line Club VIP. The Drop Zone tickets are standard, with prices starting at $22 per adult, and $14 per child (6-12 years). Included in the Drop Zone pricing is aerial viewing at the 50 yard line, a complimentary events program, and the chance to watch the displays from the beach!
Which Day is Best?
The Airshow schedule remains largly the same on both Saturday and Sunday. Major acts perform both days so you don’t have to worry about missing anything significant if you can only make one day of the show.
Where Should I Stay?
The Airshow is centered on 16th Street on the beach, and there are plenty of hotels to book at when you stay in OCMD. When you stay the the Grand Hotel & Spa you can choose to stay on the beach or hop on the Coastal Highway Beach Bus to take you directly to your location!
What Should I Bring?
Airshow officials recommend that you bring your own beach-seating, sunscreen, and an umbrella for shade if you have booked tickets in the Drop Zone. Everything else you might need will be avaliable for purchase once inside the airshow arena. Tents and awnings are not permitted within airshow grounds, and remember to pack your camera for amazing footage of the spectacular aerial displays. You may also bring your own food and drink into the Drop Zone area if you would prefer. If you have Flight Line VIP Clubhouse, or VIP Penthouse tickets, then you will not need to bring seating as it will be already provided.
What Happens If It Rains?
Unfortunately with every Ocean City, Maryland event, we cannot control the weather. In the case of an extreme weather situation, the airshow may be cancelled if it is deemed unsafe for the planes to fly and perform. In case of an emergency, tickets purchased for Saturday will be honored on Sunday, and Sunday tickets will be refunded or honored the following year.
