26th Annual Penguin Swim in Ocean City, MD
What better way to celebrate 2020 than taking a chilly dip into the Atlantic Ocean? Book your stay at the Grand Hotel & Spa and participate in this year’s 26th Annual Penguin Swim! Join hundreds of spectators and participants while dipping your toes or plunging into the ocean to support the Atlantic General Hospital Foundation.
On New Year’s Day, hundreds of participants will jump into the ocean right off of 91st Street to benefit Atlantic General Hospital located in Berlin, Maryland. This year’s goal is to raise $80,000 for the Atlantic General Hospital Foundation. Formed in 1995, the Foundation promotes the philanthropic support for enhancing health in our community. Achieved through supporting the objectives of the Atlantic General Hospital to improve the health of residents and visitors to the Eastern Shore. Individual and Team fundraising efforts by participants of the Penguin Swim, as well as the support of business sponsors, help the Atlantic General Hospital Foundation reach its goals and make the Penguin Swim a success.
Event check-in and registration begins at 10:00 am on January 1 and ends at 12:30 pm inside the Princess Royale Hotel lobby. The swim will begin at 1:00 pm on the beach, all swimmers must register online or in-person, and check-in to receive a wristband that gains them access to the Swim Area. Registration is $25 per swimmer, and all registered swimmers will receive a 2020 Penguin Swim t-shirt.
Participants who raise money will be allowed to choose from the following prizes;
$25 raised – t-shirt.
$50-$99 raised – choice of a water bottle, glass mug, or backpack.
$100-$249 raised – choice of long sleeve t-shirt or crewneck sweatshirt.
$250-$499 raised – choice of a cooler bag, towel, or hooded sweatshirt.
